FAQs

Opening hours

Our core hours are 7.30am – 6.30pm. Extended hours are 7am – 7pm and should be arranged at least 24 hours prior to drop-off/pick-up. These hours are charged at £10 per 30 minutes. Unplanned Late Pick- ups are charged by the hour at a double rate and will automatically be added to your invoice. Our setting is closed for 5 inset days and for one week over Christmas, all of which are still chargeable.

Minimum Attendance

The minimum number of days your child can attend our setting is 3 full days (0-2 years) & 2 full days or 4 half days (2-5 years). One of these days must be a Monday or Friday.

Waiting List

• In order to be placed on our waiting list parents must pay a £50 refundable fee. This fee is refundable at any time.

• Upon joining the waiting list you will be required to send us some key information regarding the type of placement you are looking for. Failure to do this will mean that S&G will be unable to update you accurately on places available.

Our waiting list will ensure that you:

o Receive a call or email once a place becomes available

o Be updated with key information regarding nursery spaces

The waiting time could take from 3 months to over 12 months depending on your child’s age, availability of the days you require and your preferred start date.

Availability of spaces takes into account our staff/child ratio, the age of the child and other registration requirements.

When an application is received, extra weight is given to:

o Children who have been on the waiting list the longest

o Number of days required (a child wanting a full-time place will usually have preference over one requiring part time only)

o Full day places

• Children who are siblings of those already with us or where there is proven existing connection.

• Children who currently attend the nursery and require an increase in their number of days (subject to availability of vacant places should they wish to).

If you wish to be removed from the waiting list at any time, please notify S&G via email or telephone.

Enrollment Process

In order to join our waiting list, send us an email requesting to do so and you will be asked to pay a £50 refundable holding deposit (this will be deducted from your first invoice payment), and let us know which days of the week you wish to have your child attend. When new places are available, parents at the top of the list are notified, even if available days do not coincide with your preferred days.

After visiting our setting and deciding you want to start your childcare journey with us, please send a confirmation email to moreinfo@sowingandgrowing.co.uk outlining the plan you have chosen including the days of the week your child will be attending.

Once a place becomes available, our manager will get in touch with you via email, with an offer letter (all fees, terms and conditions included) and instructions. To confirm your place, you will be required to pay a further £100 joining fee, which will be deducted from your final invoice. This payment must be taken within 5 days of the offer. If you should cancel your child’s place prior to starting with us, unfortunately we are unable to refund the above costs, unless this is within 14 days of accepting the place.

Cancellations

For cancellations or decreasing the number of attendance days, we require 2 months’ notice, unless your reason for doing so involves changes to terms, conditions, services or any error on our part. This can be carried out via email or letter.

Our Policies

  • Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy
  • Visitors Policy
  • Health and Safety Policy

Unexpected Closures

In exceptional circumstances outside of our control such as adverse weather, transport strikes, acts of terrorism etc, we may be forced to close the setting. We avoid doing this at all costs as we understand this can have huge implications on your ability to carry out your daily routine. However, we do not accept liability of delays or service cancellations due to these causes and unfortunately will be unable to offer refunds in the event of issues outside of our control.

Key Person & Settling In

Approximately 6 weeks prior to your child joining us, your child’s allocated key worker will be in touch regarding settling in days. An induction pack will also be sent with all the information you need for your little one’s new journey with us.
